Mumbai: Samsung Electronics has announced its most comprehensive Galaxy Z lineup yet, launching three new devices designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals to work, create and stay connected. This new foldable portfolio includes the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8.

The new Galaxy Z series brings Galaxy AI closer to everyday life with experiences tailored specifically for large screens, cover displays and flexible designs. This AI system is made more personal, proactive and connected to other devices to complete tasks in fewer steps, while maintaining transparency, privacy and full user control.

The new foldable device offers a unique experience designed around the way information is consumed throughout the day. Its 10:16 cover display provides a natural smartphone experience for messaging, browsing and short videos, while the 4:3 main display transforms into a large canvas for reading, gaming, streaming and multitasking, which is more convenient for reading articles and e-books when rotated.

Weighing just 201 grams, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold ever. The device has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Generation 5 for Galaxy processor and a 4800 mAh battery, which ensures great performance and a device that lasts all day.

Samsung has made the display thinner and more durable with its new Flex Titanium technology, a design that reduces the appearance of creases over time. The display supports up to 3000 nits of brightness, a vision booster and a low-reflective finish for clear visibility in outdoor lighting.

For photography and video, the Galaxy Z Fold8 features dual 50-megapixel cameras (wide and ultra-wide) for excellent image quality. It features ‘dual recording’ that captures both sides of the scene simultaneously and ‘My Fancam’ option that automatically tracks the subject and reframes footage for social media-ready videos. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra comes with an 8-inch main display that is just 4.1mm thin and weighs 215g when unfolded, offering a great workspace for multitasking, text creation and artificial intelligence-based tasks. It has professional tools like a 200-megapixel main camera (with HDR support), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, improved night photography, and 8K video recording with APV codec and Cine LUT support. For demanding tasks, the device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Generation 5 processor, equipped with a huge 5000 mAh battery, dual-path 45W fast charging and a good graphite cooling system.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip8 is Samsung’s thinnest and lightest flip device, offering Now Brief, Gemini Intelligence and voice commands without having to unfold the device through a new AI-native ‘FlexWindow’ interface on the cover screen. It has a 50-megapixel camera with Provisional Engine and features like Flex Mode, Camcorder Grip, Super Steady and Mirror View make it easy to shoot photos and videos hands-free.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z series introduces an optimized Galaxy AI experience for new foldable devices. It includes a ‘Now Brief’ that provides personalized daily information and recommendations and a ‘Now Nudge’ that suggests relevant next steps during communication. It also features ‘Gemini Intelligence’, which supports over 40 apps and services, and ‘Gemini Notebook’, which brings AI-generated summaries of notes, files, recordings and images into one place. These Galaxy AI features work seamlessly with the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch9 and the upcoming Galaxy Intelligent Eyewear to provide a seamless cross-device pairing experience.

Samsung is strengthening on-device AI security by integrating on-device personalization and user-controlled cloud processing through Knox. It includes the Personal Data Engine, Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection, Knox Vault and new AI transparency features in One UI 9 that give users full visibility and control over their data usage. Also, the ‘AI Assistant Activity Dashboard’ in One UI 9 lets users review all AI actions and settings in one place, and improved ‘Privacy Alerts’ help identify potential security threats in advance.
