French car manufacturer Peugeot is officially ushering its iconic ‘GTi’ brand into the electric era. After a global announcement about a month ago, the new 2026 Peugeot e-208 GTi all-electric hot hatchback is now on sale in the United Kingdom. It is the first fully battery-powered GTI model in the company’s portfolio.

Pricing and financing options

The on-road price of this electric performance hatchback in the UK has been pegged at around ₹38.8 lakh in Indian currency. After including the electric car grant there, the price comes down to around ₹37.1 lakh.

Apart from this, the company has also introduced a PCP finance scheme on a 48-month contract. With a down payment of around ₹6.3 lakh, the car can be purchased in installments of around ₹38,700 per month. A final option of around ₹17.2 lakh is available at the end of the contract. Whereas in the company’s home market i.e. France, its starting price is around ₹47.6 lakh.

The 2026 Peugeot e-208 GTi gets the same 51 kWh battery pack as the regular version.

Fast Charging: This battery charges from 20% to 80% in just 27 to 30 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger.

Home charging: A normal wall-box charger of 7.4 kW takes 4 hours 40 minutes to fully charge this car.

Design and sporty features

The GTi version has been made more sporty and aggressive compared to the regular e-208 model:

• Suspension and Handling: The ground clearance of the car has been reduced by 25 mm and the track has been widened. It features a mechanical limited-slip differential, additional anti-roll bars and special springs and dampers.
• Exterior Design: The front gets a special aerodynamic lip, revised rear diffuser with motorsport-inspired fog lamps, wider wheel arches, red highlights throughout, GTi badging and 18-inch alloy wheels.
• Interior Look: The cabin features sporty seats reminiscent of the famous classic ‘205 GTi’, steering wheel wrapped in leather and Alcantara, red stitching, safety belts and carpets. It also includes ambient light and a ‘Sound Ambience’ system that can be switched on and off.
