Sanitation Service Marathon-2026 started in Jaipur: Commissioner himself entered the field, gave strict warning to those spreading filth.

Jaipur, 18 April. To make the Pink City garbage free and beautiful, the Municipal Corporation has started the biggest cleaning campaign ever on Saturday. This campaign has been named ‘Safai Seva Marathon-2026’. The seriousness of the campaign can be gauged from the fact that even on a holiday, Corporation Commissioner Om Kasera along with his entire team entered the field at 7 in the morning and took charge of the cleanliness system.

When the Commissioner saw the filth during the inspection of Kishanpol market, he could not control himself. He along with a sanitation worker collected the garbage and put it in the dustbin. However, he also expressed his displeasure after seeing the filth spread around Ajmeri Gate and Jaleb Chowk. The Commissioner not only did the cleaning, but also interacted with the general public and took their feedback.

  • 150 wards, 9000 employees and 14 hours target

According to the Corporation Commissioner, this is not a normal cleaning campaign. Its outline has been prepared like a marathon….

1- Work has been started simultaneously in all 13 zones and 150 wards.

2- About 9000 employees have been deployed in this mega-campaign.

3- This special cleanliness campaign will run from 7 am to late night, i.e. for 14 hours continuously.

4- The number of additional JCBs, dumpers and garbage collection vehicles has been increased to collect garbage.

  • Sign of strictness: “First love, then fine”...

During the inspection, Commissioner Om Kasera gave a clear warning to the city residents and shopkeepers. He said: “We are seeking cooperation from the people of Jaipur and are currently explaining to them the importance of cleanliness in the language of love. But even after explaining, if anyone litters on the road or violates the rules, the corporation administration will not shy away from levying heavy fines and taking strict legal action.”

  • cleanliness warriors took oath

At the beginning of the campaign, all the officers and employees collectively took an oath to make Jaipur clean and beautiful. Special duties of officers have been put in place at the ward level to ensure that no corner of the city remains untouched in this night-long campaign. Today, a target has been set to dispose of a record amount of garbage as against 2000-3000 tons of garbage generated from the city every day.
