Sanjay Dutt had the pistol of Dawood Ibrahim’s shooter! Ujjwal Nikam had protested against giving relief, ‘Khalnayak’ started trembling after hearing this

Sanjay Dutt’s connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts is still one of the most talked about chapters of his life. The court ultimately acquitted him of terrorism and conspiracy charges, but found him guilty under the Arms Act for illegal possession of weapons.

Many years after this case, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam revealed an incident that actually happened at the moment the verdict was pronounced in the court. He said in a conversation that when the judge ordered to take Sanjay Dutt back into custody, he got scared and started trembling.

Ujjwal Nikam opposed bail

Speaking to Lallantop, Ujjwal Nikam spoke about the intense criticism he faced during the trial due to Sanjay Dutt’s sympathetic image. He said Sanjay was naturally scared as he was out on bail before the court ordered his remand. Ujjwal Nikam said that he had strongly opposed the relief given to Sanjay Dutt under the Criminal Probation Act.

Sanjay had Dawood Ibrahim’s number. 1 shooter pistol

Ujjwal Nikam said that Dutt’s legal team had appealed for leniency by arguing that this was his first crime. He said, “His lawyer argued that since this is his first crime, he should be released on bail. I opposed this because the pistol he was carrying was found to be from Dawood Ibrahim’s number one shooter. If they have taken the weapon from such a person, then they were fully aware of his criminal history. The benefit of the Offender Probation Act is for first-time offenders who are actually innocent but get caught in unfortunate circumstances. Not so in Sanjay Dutt’s case.” Was.” Later, in 2013, the Supreme Court sentenced Sanjay Dutt to five years in prison instead of the seven-year sentence sought by the prosecution.

Sanjay Dutt was trembling

Ujjwal Nikam recalled that Sanjay Dutt was looking very upset while being sent back to custody. Recalling that moment, he said, ‘When the verdict was announced, he was trembling. He kept saying again and again, ‘No sir, I have not done anything wrong. I will come back. He was really trembling. I was standing nearby and I told him, ‘Sanju, the media is watching, please stand straight.’ Then I asked the police to take them away. If I had not inspired them at that time, the media would have made me the villain. Everyone was against me.

Let us tell you that Sanjay Dutt had completed his jail sentence in 2016 after serving his sentence under the Arms Act. After this he made a comeback and has worked in many films since then. Recently he has been seen in the Dhurandhar franchise, KD: The Devil, Aakhri Sawaal, The Raja Saheb and Raja Shivaji.
