Sanjay Suri considers the set as his workplace: never asks for ‘packup’ time, talks openly about his return to TV and career struggle
Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Suri is ready to return to the screen once again. Sanjay Suri is entering the TV world through Colors channel’s new show ‘Juhi Mui’. In this show, he will be seen playing the sensitive role of a father whose daughter is autistic. Discussing his three decade long career and his journey from his first film ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhie’ till now, Sanjay has shared many untold stories. He believes that for an artist, the story is more important than the medium, and that is why he is making his mark everywhere, from TV to films and OTT. Why ‘Juhi Mui’ is a special project According to Sanjay Suri, ‘Juhi Mui’ is a limited episode show, which he has chosen with the aim of bringing change in the society. He says that it is difficult to adapt serious topics like autism in mainstream films, but television reaches every home, so it was necessary to take this topic among the people. Sanjay himself is the father of two sons, so while playing the role of a father in the show, his emotions have come out very natural and true. 30 years of journey: ‘There are no regrets in the industry, there is satisfaction’ When Sanjay Suri was asked why he got less work compared to other contemporary actors, he answered very maturely. He said, "This was not my choice, it is part of the way the industry works and the changing times." Sanjay told that when his films like ‘Jhankar Beats’ came, people assumed that he was only an independent cinema actor. However, he never gave up. Instead of waiting, he decided to become a producer himself and produced memorable films like ‘My Brother Nikhil’ and ‘Chowranga’. ‘I never ask on the set when will be the pack-up’ Sanjay Suri’s passion for acting is still the same as it was 27 years ago. He said, "Whenever I get a new role, the same sparkle comes in my eyes that was there during the first film." Referring to his hard work, he said a big thing, "I never ask on the set when pack-up will happen. Many people are yearning to come to this place, whereas this is my workplace." Sanjay told that he is soon going to start working on the scripts of three new films as a producer and on the acting front he also has two big OTT shows lined up. As an artist, he is as enthusiastic about experimenting today as he was at the beginning of his career.
