Sarthak Sidhant, who flagged ‘gaps’ in CBSE tenders, launches portal on CPP records
Sarthak Sidhant, the 16-year-old who blew the lid off an alleged tender fraud in the CBSE’s digital evaluation system, has announced the launch of a public portal containing around 1.66 crore records from the Centre’s Central Public Procurement (CPP) portal.
‘Robust, resilient product soon’
“Transparency needs to be accessible. From today, it is,” Sarthak posted on Xannouncing the portal. He said that over the past two weeks, around 1.66 crore records were scrapped from the government’s portal.

He urged people to download the database and explore it, while remarking that it is just the beginning and more things will follow soon.
“I want to show a final, robust, and resilient product. It is something that will increase transparency and help journalists, researchers, investigators, engineers, and citizens,” he said in another post.
Who is Sarthak Sidhant?
Sarthak recently hit the headlines when, in a detailed blog, he explained how tender rules linked to CBSE’s On-Screen Marking System were allegedly changed to favour a single company.
He started examining the CBSE’s digital evaluation system and procurement documents related to it after obtaining scanned copies of his own answer sheets and noticing differences in the marks awarded. After several other students raised concerns over the digital evaluation system, Sarthak studied multiple versions of the CBSE tender documents available online.

On comparing the different documents, he concluded that several changes were found across different rounds of bidding, including modifications to eligibility criteria, performance clauses and certification requirements.
He later presented his findings before a Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education.
