The case of assault on two youths who took part in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Delhi has now taken the form of a political controversy. Ghaziabad-based right-wing activist Satyam Pandit has defended the incident by claiming that objectionable slogans were being raised against Lord Ram, hence he took this step. Satyam said that he was stopped by the police otherwise he would have treated everyone.
At the same time, after the video of this fight went viral on social media, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has accused BJP and its allies of promoting violence against those raising their voice of protest.
What did Satyam Pandit say?
According to a media report, Satyam Pandit said that on July 24, he had reached Jantar Mantar in Delhi, where CJP’s protest was going on against the NEET paper leak. He claims that some youth were raising slogans against Lord Ram near the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
Satyam Pandit said that one mistake he made was that he did not record the video at that time. He claimed that some people participating in the protest were also saying objectionable things against Mata Sita and raising anti-national slogans. Pandit said, “This was not a youth movement. There was a demand for freedom from Brahmins.” He alleged that after the video went viral, opposition leaders gave a political color to the matter.
What did Satyam say about Akhilesh Yadav?
Satyam Pandit said, “All the opposition leaders including Akhilesh Yadav posted my video against me. I am not afraid of anything. If you have to file an FIR, then do it. I am neither afraid of arrest nor of going to jail.” He also claimed that after the incident, he had announced to go to Jantar Mantar again, but the police stopped him.

Pandit said, “If the police had not stopped me, I would have treated all the people present there.” However, he did not clarify what he meant by this statement. He said that if the protest was about NEET paper leak then the protesters should have stuck to that issue.
According to him, “Moving away from the NEET issue, slogans were raised against Gods, slogans were raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IPS officers and CRPF personnel were attacked.”
Satyam Pandit said, “India is a country with one of the strongest armies in the world and the people who protect it are the ones who are being attacked. People call them students, but in my view they are not students. The real student is the one who has faith in books.”

This controversy started when a video went viral on social media. In the video, Satyam Pandit is seen asking two students on a street in Delhi questions like their names, where they are from and whether they support the student movement.
When both the youths admitted to supporting the protest, in the video Satyam Pandit is seen abusing them, grabbing the collar of one of the youths and slapping him several times. In the video, he also asks the two youths about their religion. They are also asked to apologize for participating in the demonstration in front of the cameras and also warn them not to come to that area again. After the video surfaced, there was outrage on social media regarding this incident and many people demanded action against Satyam Pandit.

The victim Ayush said that I had woken up from the Gurudwara, it was 5 o’clock in the morning. During this time Satyam Pandit and his people took me home. There were about 6 people and they also had weapons. During this time my friend was beaten. Ayush further says that we want justice in this matter and action should be taken against them.
What did Akhilesh Yadav say?
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav shared this video on social media platform X on Saturday. He wrote, “A message to the agitators across the country! Everyone should see the misbehavior, abuses and violence of BJP and its allies.” Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav described the incident as an example of the ruling coalition’s “impudence” and “historic betrayal”.
Who is Satyam Pandit?
Satyam Pandit calls himself the president of Rashtriya Hindu Veer Sena. He has been embroiled in many controversies in the past also. In August 2024, he was arrested for allegedly giving inflammatory speeches against Bangladeshi and Rohingya communities. After this, in February 2026, a case of assault with meat sellers regarding closure of meat shops also came to light.
