Saudi Arabia: Crown Prince and French President talk over phone, America-Iran agreement will bring peace to the region
A special phone conversation took place between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders discussed the new agreement between the US and Iran and emphasized that it will bring security and stability to the entire region. This conversation was done to improve international conditions and regional peace.
During the conversation, both the leaders discussed the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ (MoU) signed on June 17, 2026. The agreement was signed electronically by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian. The main objective of this agreement is to end the Iran war of 2026 and pave the way for future relations.
Some of the main points of this agreement are as follows:
- All military operations between the US, Iran, and their allies will be ended immediately and forever.
- America will lift sanctions on Iran’s oil exports, banking transactions and frozen assets.
- Iran has promised to protect shipping lanes through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
- Both sides will respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon.
Pakistan played the role of main mediator in this entire agreement, in which Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt also cooperated. Now negotiations will be completed on a final and binding agreement within the next 60 days, which is expected to be approved by the United Nations Security Council.
French President Emmanuel Macron has welcomed this agreement. He said that this step was very important for the global economy and peace. However, France has also expressed its concerns about Iran’s nuclear program and uranium enrichment and has demanded a transparent agreement.
Experts believe that this agreement could change the balance of power in the Middle East and deepen cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
