New Delhi. 8-year-old Joyal Ghale, who ran towards the forest and climbed trees to save his life amid the severe floods in Nepal, finally reunited with his mother on Friday. After the disappearance of her son, his mother feared that both her sons might have died in the school itself. In such a situation, Joyal's safe recovery came as a big relief for the family.
A day earlier, Joyal was airlifted alone to the hospital from Rasuwa district of northern Nepal. He was reported to have a fractured leg and facial injuries. At the same time, his 28-year-old mother Tamang was continuously searching for her two missing children.
There was an uproar after going to school
On Wednesday morning, both the children had gone to school in the school car, while Tamang was doing weaving work at home. During this time he suddenly heard a loud sound like an earthquake. She immediately started trying to reach her sons' school. The school was normally a 15 to 20-minute drive from their home, but after the floods and debris, the entire area was beyond recognition. According to Tamang, the school building was also destroyed. He felt that both his sons would have lost their lives.
Innocent child climbs trees to escape alone
Amidst the flood, Joyal somehow ran towards the forest and saved his life by climbing trees. Despite serious injuries he remained alive. Later the rescue team found him and airlifted him to the hospital.
According to Reuters, Tamang spoke to his son on the phone on Friday. The mother became emotional after hearing her son's voice. The family is among those lucky people who managed to save their lives amid this terrible disaster.
587 deaths in Nepal, more than 1900 missing
So far, 587 people have lost their lives in the massive devastation caused by the floods in Nepal, while more than 1900 people are reported missing. After this disaster, 290 Indian citizens are not able to be contacted, the search for them is going on continuously.
