The vision of good governance that the state government is realizing under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is being implemented on the ground under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tribal, Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board Shri Vikas Markam. Extracts and products are being prepared from important medicinal plants like Giloy, Kalmegh, Bahera, Safed Musli, Wild Turmeric, Gudmar, Ashwagandha, and Shatavari.

With a resolve to not let the traditional knowledge scattered in the forest remain just a memory, the Board has decided to link it with the scientific method. Under this, identification of those local physicians and experts who have amazing knowledge of treatment of incurable diseases has been started. The effort of the Board is to provide a proper platform to these women, so that the society can benefit from their expertise and they can strengthen themselves economically. This is not just an administrative process, but a respect for the heritage that rural women have preserved for centuries. In Chhattisgarh, traditional herbal and tribal knowledge is now getting new recognition through modern science. The medicinal treasures hidden in the forests of the state are being certified on scientific basis and are being developed as a means of livelihood.

आर्थिक मोर्चे पर सबसे बड़ा बदलाव तब दिखाई दे रहा है, जब जड़ी-बूटियों का संग्रहण करने वाली महिलाएं अब संग्राहक से आगे बढ़कर निर्माता की भूमिका में नजर आ रही हैं। बोर्ड के दिशा-निर्देशों के अनुरूप, महिला स्व-सहायता समूहों को औषधि प्रसंस्करण (प्रोसेसिंग) के उन्नत गुर सिखाए जा रहे हैं। यह पहल न केवल औषधीय पौधों का संरक्षण कर रही है, बल्कि वनवासियों और लघु वन उपज संग्राहकों की आय में वृद्धि करके उन्हें आत्मनिर्भर बना रही है। छत्तीसगढ़ में 1500 से अधिक सक्रिय वैद्यों के ज्ञान को सहेजने और जड़ी-बूटियों के विपणन के लिए छत्तीसगढ़ जनजातीय स्थानीय स्वास्थ्य परंपराएं और औषधीय पादप बोर्ड सक्रिय रूप से काम कर रहा है। यह संस्था हर्बल उत्पादों की खेती, मूल्य संवर्धन, और मार्केटिंग में तकनीकी सहायता और सामुदायिक भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करती है।Herbal value addition is an important initiative in Chhattisgarh, through which the economic value of the rich forest resources of the state is being enhanced by scientifically processing them. The state government is promoting these products under the brand ‘Chhattisgarh Herbals’. When these women clean, dry and convert the raw material obtained from forests into powder, extract or oil, the price and quality of the product increases manifold. The direct economic benefits of this value addition are reaching their bank accounts, thereby completely eliminating the dominance of middlemen. छत्तीसगढ़, जिसे 'जड़ीबूटि गढ़' भी कहा जाता है, अपने घने जंगलों, विशेषकर बस्तर में 160 से अधिक प्रकार की दुर्लभ जड़ी-बूटियों का प्राकृतिक खजाना है। यहाँ की मिट्टी में अश्वगंधा, सर्पगंधा, गोक्षुरा (गोखरू), कुटकी और तिखुर जैसी औषधियां पाई जाती हैं, जो स्वास्थ्य और जीवन शक्ति के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। बाजार की चुनौतियों को अवसर में बदलते हुए बोर्ड ने विपणन (मार्केटिंग) तंत्र को पारदर्शी बनाया है। प्रदेश के छत्तीसगढ़ हर्बल्स ब्रांड को सशक्त करने के लिए प्रदर्शनियों और रिटेल आउटलेट्स के माध्यम से इन उत्पादों को सीधे शहरी उपभोक्ताओं तक पहुँचाया जा रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के 'व्होकल फार लोकल' और मुख्यमंत्री के 'लखपति दीदी' अभियान को सफल बनाने में यह रणनीति संजीवनी का कार्य कर रही है।Nursery Management and Local Employment
जड़ी बूटियों को किचिन गार्डन, होम गार्डन में खिड़की, बालकनी, टेरिस पर गमलों, या अन्य कंटेनरों में कभी भी उगाया जा सकता है। कंटेनर गार्डनिंग या ग्रो बैग में जड़ी-बूटियां उगाने का एक फायदा यह भी है कि जड़ी-बूटी को उसकी जरूरत के आधार पर मिट्टी, पोषक तत्व, सूर्य प्रकाश और नमी के स्तर को नियंत्रित किया जा सकता है तथा गमलों में उगाई गई प्रत्येक जड़ी-बूटी (हर्बल) को उसकी आदर्श स्थितियां दे सकते हैं। पर्यावरण संरक्षण और आजीविका के बीच संतुलन बनाने के उद्देश्य से औषधीय पौधों की 'मदर नर्सरी' विकसित करने की जिम्मेदारी महिला समूहों को सौंपी जा रही है। इससे दुर्लभ जड़ी-बूटियों की प्रजातियों को विलुप्त होने से बचाया जा रहा है। स्थानीय स्तर पर महिलाओं के लिए बारहमासी रोजगार के द्वार खुल गए हैं, जिससे वनांचल से होने वाले पलायन पर भी अंकुश लगा है।Prosperous women, strong Chhattisgarh
