Sensation in sports world: Secret video recording from mobile, hotel bathroom case, 2 players in custody
New Delhi. A very serious and shameful case related to Sri Lanka Under-19 Cricket Team has come to light, which has shaken the cricketing world. It is alleged that two young players of the team recorded objectionable videos of women players staying in the hotel with their mobile phones, after which they were arrested by the police.
This incident is being reported from Narahenpita area of Colombo, where female players had lodged a complaint that video recording was being done from mobile phones near their bathroom. After the complaint, the police immediately took action and took both the players into custody.
According to reports, after initial interrogation, both the players were produced in the court, where they got bail on a surety bond of around Sri Lankan rupees 5 lakh. However, the investigation into the case is still going on and the police are also investigating whether this video was shared on any digital platform.
After this incident, pressure on Sri Lanka Cricket Board has also increased. Although the Board has not yet announced any official disciplinary action, considering the seriousness of the matter, an internal investigation process has been initiated.
This matter has come to light at a time when Sri Lankan cricket is already going through administrative changes and controversies. There have been several major changes in the board recently and the responsibility has been handed over to an interim committee, which is monitoring such matters.
