UP government’s big announcement: Every worker will get a security cover of Rs 5 lakh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a big and historic announcement for the working class of the state in the ‘Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh 2026′ organized on the occasion of International Workers’ Day in Lucknow. The government has decided to provide cashless treatment and security insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to the construction and industrial workers of the state. This decision is being considered a big step towards labor welfare.
Extension of safety net for workers
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the state government is that no worker of the state should be deprived of health and economic security. In this direction, so far 12.26 lakh construction workers have been linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The remaining 15.83 lakh workers will also soon be provided cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under this scheme.
Along with this, workers working in industrial areas will also be brought under the ambit of this security cover. Workers employed in establishments with 10 or more workers will be given the benefit of health and accident insurance.
About one crore workers will get benefits
About one crore workers of the state are expected to get direct benefits from this new scheme of the government. This includes health protection as well as accident insurance, which will provide great relief to workers and their families.
Emphasis on labor respect and rights
In the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a clear message and said that the laborer who does the work will get his full salary. He also said that if any worker is not given his rights, the government will take strict action. This statement is being seen as protection of labor rights.
