Shahid Kapoor earns highest pay cheque for Cocktail 2

Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor has reportedly emerged as the highest-paid star of the upcoming film Cocktail 2, earning more than the combined remuneration of co-stars Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.

According to industry reports, the three lead actors have collectively charged ₹35 crore for the film, with Shahid Kapoor accounting for the largest share of the amount.

Shahid leads remuneration chart

Reports suggest that Shahid Kapoor has received ₹21 crore for Cocktail 2, making him the highest-paid member of the cast.

Kriti Sanon is said to have earned ₹8 crore for the project, while Rashmika Mandanna reportedly received ₹6 crore.

The combined remuneration of Kriti and Rashmika stands at ₹14 crore, significantly lower than Shahid’s reported fee.

Industry sources claim this marks the biggest theatrical film pay cheque of their careers. While Shahid Kapoor is believed to have earned higher amounts for certain OTT projects, Cocktail 2 is reportedly his highest-paying theatrical venture to date.

Film mounted on a large scale

The upcoming romantic drama is reportedly being produced on a total budget of ₹150 crore, including production costs, cast remuneration and promotional expenses.

Of the overall budget, approximately ₹35 crore has been allocated to the lead cast’s remuneration, while around ₹20 crore is reportedly earmarked for print and advertising (P&A) activities.

The remaining ₹95 crore has been utilised for production, technical aspects, location shoots and payments to supporting cast and crew members.

Strong buzz ahead of release

Cocktail 2 has already generated significant interest among audiences through its promotional campaign.

The film’s trailer and songs have reportedly received positive attention online, helping create strong pre-release buzz.

Industry observers believe the combination of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna has added considerable star power to the project, making it one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year.

Expectations high for the sequel

As a sequel to the popular 2012 film Cocktail, the new instalment carries substantial expectations from audiences and trade analysts alike.

The makers are reportedly betting on the film’s scale, music and star cast to attract moviegoers to theatres.

With advance promotions gaining momentum, industry attention remains focused on whether the film can translate its strong pre-release buzz into box office success.

Grand theatrical release planned

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 19 and is expected to open across a large number of screens nationwide.

Trade experts will closely monitor its opening weekend performance, especially given its reported ₹150 crore investment and high-profile cast.

The film’s success could further strengthen the market value of its lead actors while reaffirming Bollywood’s growing preference for large-scale theatrical entertainers.
