Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna are leaving no stone unturned to promote their upcoming film Cocktail 2. The trio have been busy with mall promotions across cities, grooving to the film’s songs and interacting with fans.

However, one promotional event in Pune turned chaotic after a massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars. Chaos ensued when the overwhelming crowd allegedly breached security barricades and mobbed the actors. In the rush, fans were seen pulling Shahid Kapoor in an attempt to click selfies, and according to videos circulating online, the actor’s shirt was torn.

The clip also shows Shahid Kapoor pushing people who were coming near him.

Seeing the situation completely out of control, Shahid’s team reportedly decided to cancel the event and quickly escort the actors out of the venue.

A viral video shows Shahid Kapoor’s team trying to safely escort him through the crowd as he appeared visibly frustrated while making his way out. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon was seen protecting Rashmika Mandanna, holding her close and helping her navigate through the sea of fans as security personnel escorted them away.

Kriti remained visibly alert throughout the ordeal, carefully guiding Rashmika through the pushing crowd. Her gesture quickly won praise on social media.

CBFC has granted the film an ‘A’ certificate for Cocktail 2

According to ticketing platform BookMyShow, Cocktail 2 has received an adult rating from the censor board. The film’s runtime has reportedly been locked at 2 hours and 30 minutes.

With this, Cocktail 2 becomes the first-ever adult-rated film in Kriti Sanon’s 12-year career. For Rashmika Mandanna, it marks her second ‘A’-rated Hindi film after the blockbuster Animal (2023), which also starred Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol.

The first installment of Cocktail, released in 2012, starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. It was also directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Unlike the sequel, however, the original film had received a U/A certificate from the CBFC and had a runtime of 146 minutes, making it around four minutes shorter than Cocktail 2.

The sequel reportedly revolves around a love triangle between the three leads, with Shahid’s character caught between the two women. According to reports, Shahid Kapoor is believed to be the highest-paid actor among the trio, reportedly charging Rs 35 crore for the film. Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, who play Ally and Diya respectively, are said to have received Rs 15 crore each.
