Shai Hope Statement: West Indies played well in the 5-match T-20 series played with India and the series ended in a 2-2 draw. The Caribbean team also had a chance to win the series, but the fifth match played in Bengaluru was canceled due to rain. But, in this series, the West Indies team impressed everyone with its batting and bowling. Shay Hope scored 2 centuries and was the highest run scorer. For this he was chosen Player of the Series. Let us know what Captain Shay Hope said after the end of the series…
Shay Hope is very happy with the team's performance
Shay Hope said in the post match presentation, “We were very close to winning. It's something we haven't done in years. I think it's been over 20 years, though I don't remember the exact number. But to get this far in the series and have a good chance of winning shows how we are performing as a team. We are definitely on the move. Success doesn't always mean winning the series, but the way the players have progressed as a team. Yes, he is really worthy of praise.”

Hope praised the bowlers fiercely
On the positives from the T20I series, especially the bowling performance, Shay Hope said, as I said, “There were a lot of positives, especially in bowling. We often talk about how players use their skills in pressure situations. We saw Shamar Springer come into the team and play an important role, bowling well, especially in the death overs and taking some important wickets. Keemo Paul did the same and then there were players like Roston, who have been bowling well for many years.”
On not making Roston Chase bowl in the last match, he said, “Yes, sometimes this happens. If Tilak had been on strike in that over, because Moti had bowled the second over, then perhaps I would have bowled Roston. But yes, sometimes things are like that. Overall, the way we played cricket, every player contributed on different occasions. Sherfane continued his excellent performance in the T20 format. “As I said, from a bowling point of view it was great for the players to execute their plans well.”

What did Shay Hope say about his batting?
West Indies captain Shay Hope batted brilliantly in the 5-match T-20 series played with India. In this series, he scored 261 runs at an average of 130.50 and a strike rate of 190.51. It is worth noting that in the two matches that West Indies won in this series, it was Hope who took his team to victory by scoring a century. He was chosen Player of the Series for his brilliant performance.
Talking about his batting and maintaining confidence in himself, Shay Hope said in the post match presentation, “You have to trust yourself. To be honest, whenever I come on the field. Even if I have not scored runs in the last two, three, four or five innings, I still have full confidence that I can do the job for the team. I think this is what keeps me moving forward and grounded. Knowing that even if I score 100 runs or make a big score in the next match, I will still have to start from the beginning again. That's why my method never changes.”

Hope further said, “I try to stay as neutral as possible and, like I said, am confident in my ability to get the job done. Since I prepare well, I just let things happen my way and hope that when it comes to executing on the field, things work out in my favor.”
