Long jump athlete Shaili Singh is over the disappointment of a controversial fourth-place finish at the Asian Games and is focusing on the upcoming competitions and wants to try her luck in the triple jump in the future.
The 22-year-old finished fourth in the women’s long jump at the Asian Games in Japan with a best performance of 6.42 metres. However, India had objected to the method of measurement of their fourth attempt. It was officially recorded as 6.41 meters but India alleged that officials had under-measured the jump length.
The matter reached the Sports Arbitration
India had filed a protest during the competition, which was rejected. After this, the Indian Athletics Federation took up this matter before the Sports Arbitration. Shaili said that whatever happened was completely new to me. I didn’t understand anything at that time. It took me several days to recover from this. I have been working hard for so many years but if I keep thinking about it, it will not be of any benefit. I have to forget this incident.
the decision will be accepted
He said that we had lodged an objection there also and the matter is still going on. Whatever the decision, I will accept it. Shaili said that she is focusing on the upcoming challenges instead of getting stuck in that incident. He said that I also have to prepare for the upcoming competition. So I have to leave old things behind and accept new things.
