Shami's big statement on Bhuvneshwar Kumar's return, targets the selectors; Focus on Ranji Trophy

After a long wait of 4 years in the Indian cricket team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to the T20 team. On the other hand, the doors of Team India have still not opened again for experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami.

Mohammed Shami’s anger has erupted over Bhuvi’s comeback and his continued being ignored. He has expressed his anger in a very frank manner. Even before this, Mohammed Shami has been making headlines with his statements.

While talking to RevSports, when Mohammed Shami was asked about the selection of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the long distance from his own team, he bluntly said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar got a chance to play for India and it is a good thing for him.

But I have nothing to do with his selection. Wherever I get a chance to play, I will give my 100 percent. Right now my entire focus is on Ranji matches. Further, Shami took a dig at the selectors and team management and said that this is what has been happening to me for the last two-three years.

Shami said that I am performing continuously and have proved my fitness for Bengal. Despite this, if I do not get a chance to play for Team India again, it is not my loss!

Why are Shami and Bhuvi being discussed?

36-year-old Mohammed Shami played his last match for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Since then, due to fitness problems and the selectors giving preference to young players, he has been continuously out of action.
On the other hand, on the basis of his excellent performance in IPL 2026, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to the T20 team for the New Zealand tour. It is believed that he is being tested as part of the plans for the ODI World Cup 2027.

In such a situation, after the defeat of Indian bowlers on flat pitches in the current series against West Indies, fans and experts are continuously advocating for experienced bowlers, due to which Shami’s pain has come out openly.
