Big relief to Sharad Pawar-Supriya Sule from Supreme Court in Lavasa case, CJI Surya Kant said – we will not interfere

New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has got a big relief before the monsoon session of Parliament. The Supreme Court has rejected the PIL demanding investigation into the alleged scam and illegal activities in the station project.

Apart from Chief Sharad Pawar, MP Supriya Sule, late Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was also named in this case, but now the decision of the Supreme Court has given life to the Pawar family. The Supreme Court’s decision means that the Lavasa scam will no longer be investigated.

CJI Surya Kant questioned the intentions of the petitioner and rejected it. Nanasaheb Jadhav said that he was shocked by SUCO’s decision. This has disappointed us greatly. We are taking legal advice regarding further action. Maharashtra Congress chief Sunil Tatkare of Sunetra Pawar-led NCP has reacted on the Pawar family getting Supreme relief. Tatkare said the case was void on merit. Sharad Pawar and his entire family have got relief at a time when the monsoon session of Parliament is about to begin.

There is talk that Sharad Pawar-led NCP may support the central government on the issue of women’s reservation and delimitation of Lok Sabha. Supriya Sule had indicated this on Tuesday, although she had also added that she would look at the bill and then take a decision. Responding to this issue, Sunil Tatkare has said that I myself have been a witness in this case. The Mumbai High Court had also rejected this petition as the case was void on merit.
