Sheikh Hasina’s special message to Suvendu Adhikari as soon as he becomes the CM of Bengal, will there be a big change in India-Bangladesh relations?

Kolkata: Suvendu Adhikari is receiving congratulations at the international level as soon as the first BJP government is formed in West Bengal. Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and President of Awami League Sheikh Hasina has heartily congratulated Suvendu Adhikari on becoming the Chief Minister. He expressed hope that Bengal will develop rapidly under the leadership of Suvendu Adhikari.

Sheikh Hasina’s letter

In a letter written on May 9, Sheikh Hasina wished good health and success for Suvendu Adhikari and his entire cabinet. He said that the development of West Bengal will gain more momentum under the capable leadership of Suvendu Adhikari.

Also, the long standing friendly relations between India and Bangladesh will be further strengthened. Sheikh Hasina also wished prosperity and welfare for the people of West Bengal. He ended his message by writing ‘Jai Bangla, Jai Bangabandhu and long live Bangladesh’.

Hope for stronger relations between the two countries

Sheikh Hasina’s message is being considered important in the politics of Bengal. Under his leadership, relations between India and Bangladesh were very good. Currently Sheikh Hasina is taking refuge in India. After the political turmoil in Bangladesh, he had to leave the country and come to India.

Earlier, the Bangladesh government had also congratulated the BJP on its victory and expressed its desire to renegotiate long-pending issues like Teesta water sharing.

New government in Bengal

On Saturday, Suvendu Adhikari took oath as the Chief Minister at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. He is the first Chief Minister of BJP in West Bengal. Many prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were present on this occasion. BJP achieved a clear majority in the assembly elections by winning 207 seats. This is considered to be a big change in the politics of Bengal.

Political and diplomatic importance

Sheikh Hasina’s congratulatory message is not only for Suvendu Adhikari but also a positive step towards further strengthening India-Bangladesh relations. Political analysts believe that under the leadership of the new Chief Minister, trade, security and cultural cooperation between the two countries can increase.

The people of Bengal are expecting that the new government will focus on the development, employment and law and order of the state. Along with the coronation of Suvendu Adhikari, getting international support is also being considered a positive sign.
