Why statement in English on ‘Sindoor’ anniversary? Pakistan laughs by questioning the Indian army!

Pakistan is often in the news for all sorts of novel reasons. This time is no exception. On May 7, Operation Sindoor completed one year. Naturally, the Indian Army made a statement to the press on the anniversary. But Islamabad also objected here. Why did the Indian army make a statement in English? A Pak soldier came forward by raising this question.

Pakistan’s Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chowdhury said, “Who told you to make a statement in English on Sindur’s anniversary? What is the reason for this? You want to tell your fabricated theory to the whole world?” After this comment of Ahmed, the noise subsided. Not only that, Pakistan has practically become a laughing stock on social media. A netizen on the X handle wrote, ‘Pakistan Army also uses English in making statements. When you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones at others.’ Another netizen wrote, ‘All instructions from the highest to the lowest levels of the Pak Army are issued in English. Why not admit defeat? Why are you talking about only one side?’

It is to be noted that on April 22, 26 unarmed people were killed in Pahelgaon by four militants of Lashkar’s shadow organization TRF. In response to this attack, India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7. Nine militant bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were destroyed. Pakistan then launched attacks targeting populated areas and army bases in states bordering India. India countered that attack as well as retaliated. At least 11 air bases of Pakistan were destroyed. More than 100 militants and 35-40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Indian army operation. Finally, New Delhi agreed to a ceasefire at Islamabad’s request.
