Indian cricket fraternity, led by Shikhar Dhawantook to social media on Thursday to wish Virat Kohli on his 38th birthday, with the former skipper busy playing the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand that began on Wednesday.

Dhawan took to his X-handle and wrote, “Happy Birthday. Your passion, hunger and love for the game continue to inspire millions. Have a fantastic year ahead, bro!”

The two cricketers share a great bond with each other, having shared the dressing room while playing for Delhi and India.

Ex-KKR star Manoj Tiwary wished Kohli on his special day. He posted a photo of himself with the veteran batter. “Happy Birthday, Virat!  Some partnerships are remembered for the runs we scored, but the special ones are remembered for the memories they create. This picture takes me back to our partnership against the West Indies — sharing the crease, building a partnership and experiencing those special moments on the field. Keep inspiring generations with your hunger, passion and unmatched commitment to the game. Wishing you many more years of success and greatness.”

Chennai Super Kings legend Suresh Raina wrote, “Happy Birthday, King Kohli! From breathtaking cover drives to unforgettable run chases, you’ve given cricket fans countless memories and emotions. Your passion, fighting spirit and hunger to win make you truly special. For me, watching you bat is pure joy. Keep inspiring, keep conquering, and keep making India proud!   Once a King, Always a King!”

The RCB star who scored 74 in the first game of the series in Auckland will be seen next playing in the second ODI on 7th November. He needs one more run to become the leading run-scorer against New Zealand in ODI cricket. Kohli equalled Ricky Ponting’s mark in the opening game.
