Shiv Sena’s first rebel MP breaks silence, reveals reason for joining Shinde Sena
Rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Nagesh Ashtikar publicly confirmed for the first time on Sunday that he is going to join Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. He clearly said that the decision to join Shinde’s party was not taken because of any anger or resentment against Uddhav Thackeray but because of raising funds and completing development work in his constituency.
Nagesh Ashtikar is one of the six rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs. He said that many development works in his constituency were stalled because funds were not coming from the government. He said that this decision had to be taken keeping in mind the interests of his supporters and the public.

Nagesh Ashtikar said what?
Ashtikar said, ‘Funds were not available and development work was not progressing. For the people’s work, it has become necessary to go towards the ruling party. Ashtikar then insisted that his decision had nothing to do with ideology. Also said that he is not leaving the core political identity of Shiv Sena. He said, ‘I have not given up ideology. I am going only from Shiv Sena to Shiv Sena, not anywhere else.
‘I am not angry with Uddhav Saheb’
He said, ‘I am not angry with Uddhav Saheb, but without power, people’s work is not getting done. Sanjay Raut is like a father to him and is not angry with his decision.

The statement assumes significance as none of the six rebel MPs has yet publicly confirmed the rebellion, making it the biggest political crisis for the Shiv Sena UBT since the 2022 bifurcation.
Omprakash Nimbalkar will take decision later
Meanwhile, Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar, one of the six rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs, said on Sunday that he will take a decision about his political future only after consulting the people of his constituency. At the same time, the party led by Uddhav Thackeray is hopeful that Nimbalkar will not leave the party.
