Shooting in America’s Oklahoma City, 12 people injured during party
Edmund. At least 12 people were injured and hospitalized after a shooting Sunday night at a lake party near Oklahoma City. Police and hospital officials gave this information. Edmond police spokeswoman Emily Ward said shots were reported at a gathering of youth near Arcadia Lake around 9 p.m. He told late on Sunday night that no one has been arrested yet.
He said: “This is clearly an extremely frightening situation and we understand the concerns of the public and those affected. We are doing our best to trace the suspects.” “We are interviewing victims and witnesses throughout the area,” Ward said. He said that 10 people were taken to the hospital, while others reached the hospital themselves. The conditions of the victims were described as “varied”.
Nine people were admitted to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, while three others are at Integris Health Edmond Hospital, according to a spokesperson for the hospital system. The spokesperson said that the condition of all the patients was being assessed till late Sunday night.
Although police did not provide details about the party, a video posted on social media after the incident indicated that an event called ‘Sunday Funday’ was organized near the lake on Sunday evening.
Arcadia Lake, located about 13 miles (21 kilometers) north of Oklahoma City, is an artificial reservoir used for flood control. It is also a popular spot for activities such as fishing, boating, picnicking and camping. It is located in Lake Edmond, a suburb of Oklahoma City with a population of approximately one million.
