Indian Test and T20 captain Shubman Gill celebrated his 27th birthday with much fanfare with his family members on Wednesday. On this special occasion, the Indian batting sensation shared a beautiful video of cake cutting on Instagram, in which he is seen with his father Lakhwinder Singh Gill and sister Shahneel Gill. Sharing the video, Gill wrote in the caption, “Grateful. Always. Thanks for all the love and wishes.”
Shubman Gill, who left his mark from the small town of Fazilka in Punjab to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, is considered by the cricket world as the 'Prince of Indian Cricket'. Gill, who reminds us of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli with his classy cover drives and straight drives, has created a distinct identity for himself in all three formats. At the age of 27, he has emerged as the strongest pillar of the next generation of Indian cricket.
Gill's statistics speak volumes of the greatness of his international career. In the 43 Test matches played so far, he has scored 3,043 runs at an average of 43.47, which includes 11 centuries. His record is breaking even more records in the ODI format, where he has scored 3,379 runs in 67 matches at an average of 60.33. Apart from this, he has 869 runs in T20 International and 4,598 runs in 134 matches of IPL.
