SIAM Sales Report: Automobile Desk. Even though the dominance of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) is increasing in the Indian automobile market, the craze for sedan cars still persists among customers who want premium comfort and excellent mileage. According to the latest report, a total of 37,728 units of sedan vehicles have been sold in July 2026. In the month of July last year, this figure was 33,106 units, which this time shows an annual growth of about 14 percent.

Due to its attractive looks, smooth driving experience, excellent performance and large boot space (diggy), this segment still remains the first choice for both daily use and long journeys. Maruti Suzuki's Dezire has maintained its dominance in this entire segment, while Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze have also performed brilliantly.
