As the leaked photo from the set of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King surfaced online, fans got excited but the makers did not.
The pictures, said to be from Cape Town, show Deepika Padukone walking hand in hand with the 60-year-old superstar.
The environment looks like a song shoot. The 40-year-old actress is in a soft floral gown, while SRK appears relaxed, in an open shirt, with salt-and-pepper hair.
Crew members move around them, but the focus stays on the pair.
Soon after the internet went into frenzy, Director Siddharth Anand, who is known to be very strict about the privacy of his projects, issued a statement urging fans not to leak any photos or videos from the film’s set.
On Friday , the 47-year-old filmmaker shared a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter), urging fans not to post or circulate any leaked multimedia from the sets of King.
“The team is working round the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let us wait for the surprise on the big screen and for the assets to be revealed as the team of King originally intends to. Thank you for your love, support, and cooperation,” He wrote.
The film also features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Oberoi, Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji and Jaideep Ahlawat, among others.
King marks Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut after her film debut with the 2024 Netflix film The Archies.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
