Krishnaben Vijusang Thakor, a member of the 18th seat of Siddhapur Taluka Panchayat, has been disqualified and vacated as he has three children. Patan District Development Officer C. L. Patel has given this order under the Gujarat Panchayat Act-1993. Krishnaben was elected in the 2026 election. Rohitji Balsangji Thakor complained of giving wrong information in the election form despite having three children. As per the Act, a person having more than two children after 04/08/2005 is disqualified as a member.
On investigation, birth certificates of three children were found. In which Jaydipsingh (15/08/2013, Mehsana), Khushiben (27/12/2014, Kakoshi) and Janvi (15/12/2020) the birth certificates of three children were found in the investigation. The member said that the third child was adopted by Jeth Dalaji Thakor, but according to the law, the child adopted for the birth parents cannot be considered excluded.
Hearings were held before the DDO, in which the member was not present. After considering all the evidence and legal provisions, the DDO disqualified Krishnaben as a member and declared his position vacant.
