Sidhua market: Sidhua market submerged in the first shower of rain, drainage system completely failed

Padrauna (Kushinagar). Due to poor drainage system and encroachment in Sidhua Bazaar located on Padrauna-Dudhi road, the main road is turning into a drain. Due to encroachment by shopkeepers on both sides of the road, the drains have been completely destroyed, due to which rain water gets accumulated on the road itself.
According to the local people, even the drains made for drainage have been blocked and captured. As a result, even in light rain, the main road of the market gets filled with knee-deep water and the pedestrians have to face a lot of problems. After the recent rains, water got accumulated on the road due to strong current, affecting the movement of two-wheelers, e-rickshaws, tempo drivers and pedestrians.
Due to waterlogging on the road, potholes are not visible, due to which there is a possibility of accident and serious injury. Local people say that demands for removal of encroachment and construction of new drains have been made to the authorities several times, but no concrete action has been taken till now.
Due to lack of drain system in Sidhua market, dirty water from houses is also discharged directly onto the road. The spilling of bathroom and domestic water on the road creates filth in the entire area. The situation becomes even more serious during the rainy season and the entire road starts looking like a drain. Local citizens have demanded from the administration to remove the encroachment and construct a proper drain, so that the market area and the pedestrians can get relief from this problem.
