Silver of 8 out of top-10 companies, market cap crosses ₹ 1.90 lakh crore; See winners list
Tremendous action has been seen in the Indian stock market this week. On the strength of the strength of the domestic market, the market cap of 8 of the top 10 most valuable companies of the country has collectively seen a huge jump of ₹ 1,90,443.43 crore (about ₹ 1.90 lakh crore). In this bullish period, private sector banking giant ICICI Bank has won, while investors of big companies like Reliance Industries (RIL) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have also been in silver.
ICICI Bank was the biggest ‘Sikander’ of the week
ICICI Bank proved to be the biggest game-changer in the market rally last week. The market capitalization of the bank increased by ₹44,930.56 crore to reach ₹8,45,417.34 crore. With this spectacular gain, ICICI Bank remained the most profitable stock for investors.
Reliance and TCS also showed their talent
The market cap of the country’s most valuable company Reliance Industries also recorded a strong increase of ₹ 38,710.23 crore, after which its total valuation has become ₹ 20,01,135.20 crore. At the same time, the market cap of IT sector giant TCS jumped by ₹33,639.43 crore to reach ₹14,40,943.43 crore.
Bharti Airtel, Infosys and SBI also remained ahead
In this all-round boom of the market, other big companies have also filled their coffers. Bharti Airtel’s market cap increased by ₹25,321.43 crore to ₹9,15,413.43 crore. The valuation of the country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), increased by ₹18,435.43 crore to reach ₹7,40,321.43 crore. Apart from this, significant improvement was also seen in the market cap of Infosys, ITC and Hindustan Unilever (HUL).
HDFC Bank and LIC got a shock
While on one hand 8 companies created ruckus in the market, on the other hand two big companies had to face losses. The market cap of the country’s largest private custodian HDFC Bank declined by ₹12,345.43 crore to ₹12,10,432.43 crore. Along with this, the market cap of state-owned life insurance company Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) also declined by ₹5,678.43 crore, bringing its total valuation to ₹6,20,321.43 crore.
