Girlfriend had to be dragged to the court, it was heavy: The lover had gone to settle the account of every penny, the judge imposed a class, but his pocket got cut even more!

Indian Origin CEO Loses Lawsuit Against Girlfriend: While being in a love relationship for years, couples shower their love on each other openly, give expensive gifts, visit luxurious places and share all their joys and sorrows. Many relationships get completed and reach the point of marriage, but sometimes fate has something else in store and due to mutual differences or betrayal, things reach the point of breakup. Usually, after a breakup, people try to forget their old love and bitter memories and move ahead in life, but what happens when a lover starts demanding an account of every penny spent on his ex-girlfriend after the breakup?

Yes, one such shocking and sensational case has come to light, where Chander Aggarwal, Managing Director of TCI Express Limited and CEO of Indian-Origin, imposed similar legal consequences on his ex-girlfriend Felix Lee after their breakup. Chander Aggarwal filed a case in the High Court of Singapore that the amount of Rs 3 crore 50 lakh ($3,70,000) he spent on his girlfriend during their relationship was not a gift but an 'interest-free loan', which she would have to return.

But Singapore High Court senior judge Lee Siu Kin, while giving a historic verdict in this case, blew away the CEO's claims and made it clear that gifts given in love are not loans, due to which the court dismissed his case and ordered him to pay the legal costs of his ex-girlfriend.

We met in flight, then looted the treasure in love

This high-profile love story started during a flight in 2019. Gradually, their closeness increased and in September 2022, both got into a romantic relationship. CEO Chander Aggarwal was so much in love with his girlfriend Felix Lee that he spent money like water on love.

According to reports, Chander gifted Felix luxury bags and items from the world's most expensive brands like Hermes, Dior and Prada. Not only this, both of them took expensive trips to many countries of the world by flying in first-class flights, the woman's life insurance premiums were paid, her personal expenses were borne by her American Express credit card and Chander also paid the huge fees for Stanford-NUS's executive program.

The limit reached when Chander spent about 17,000 Singapore dollars on a Feng Shui master to 'spiritually harmonize' Felix's flat i.e. free it from Vaastu defects. Later, giving a strange argument in the court, Chander said that since he is an Indian and does not believe in Feng Shui, the payment made by him should be considered as a loan, which was rejected outright by the judge.

Suspicion of infidelity and bitter end in December 2023

This beautiful love story could not blossom for long and by December 2023, there was distance between the two. The reason was that Chander Aggarwal suspected his girlfriend Felix Lee that she was in a relationship with another man and was cheating on him. The needle of suspicion grew so deep that within no time the relationship completely broke down and it reached the point of breakup. After the end of the relationship, where both of them should have parted ways, instead of love, the fire of hatred and revenge started burning in Chander Aggarwal's heart.

'Smart' CEO in love, became 'bitter' after breakup

When the case reached the High Court of Singapore, Chander Aggarwal presented a hand-written agreement in the court, which he claimed to have Felix's initials, although the girl flatly refused to sign any agreement. Senior Judge Lee Siu Kin of the Singapore High Court, while hearing this entire case, made a very interesting and stinging comment.

The judge said in his judgment that when this relationship was going on, Chander Aggarwal was completely 'smart' i.e. infatuated with his girlfriend and he had spent money on her like water of his own free will and with his pleasure. The judge also noted that at times Felix herself would hesitate in accepting these expensive gifts, but Chander himself would forcibly give her the gifts.

Gift cannot be considered as loan, noose tightened on CEO

In his decision, the judge also expressed surprise that during this affair that lasted for more than a year, thousands of WhatsApp messages were exchanged between the two, but Chander could not present even a single written evidence or message in the court which could prove that he had ever lent money to Felix or that the girl had ever asked for a loan. Making a scathing comment, the judge said that when the relationship ended sourly, Chander Aggarwal had become completely 'embittered' and was bent on taking revenge from his ex-girlfriend and extorting money from her at any cost.

Ultimately the court ruled that all that money and luxury expenses were 'gifts' and not a loan. The court gave a severe blow to Chander Aggarwal by dismissing his case and ordered him to pay the legal expenses of his ex-girlfriend Felix Lee.

Now this matter is going viral on social media on which people are debating whether it is right to demand back the expensive gifts or expenses given in the relationship through the court after the breakup, or is it an insult to love to settle the accounts of love transactions?
