Singapore Open 2026: Lakshya, Satwik-Chirag in focus – Preview

Top Indian shuttlers including the likes of double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, and world championship medallists Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty will be in action as the 2026 Singapore Open Super 750 gets underway on Tuesday.

Sen, who had endured a first round exit last week at the Malaysia Masters, will look to bounce back as he opens his campaign against China’s Lu Guang Zu.

Accompanying him in the men’s singles main draw will be the young Ayush Shetty, and veterans Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy.

While Ayush will be up against Canada’s young sensation Victor Lai, Srikanth and Prannoy will face Loh Kean Yew and Jonatan Christie respectively.

The women’s doubles draw will feature India’s latest top-20 entrant Unnati Hooda and Malvika Bansod along with former world champion Sindhu.

Sindhu will have a tough opening round battle against the fifth seeded Putri Wardani, while Hooda goes up against eighth seeded Tomoka Miyazaki.

Bansod, meanwhile, will have to deal with world No 16 Lin Hsiang Ti of Chinese Taipei.

Satwik-Chirag will start as the fourth seed against Presley Smith and Chen Zi Yi of the United States. Also in action will be Hariharan Amsakarunan-Arjun MR in men’s doubles.

Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde will be the lone Indians in mixed doubles, whereas Rutaparna Panda-Swetaparna Panda, Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi, and Ashwini Bhat-Shikha Gautam will also feature in women’s doubles.
