The 139-year-old Raffles Hotel has ranked 17th in the 2026 edition of The 50 Best Hotels list, making it the only Singapore property in the top 50 based on reviews from hoteliers and experienced luxury travelers.
Opened on Dec. 1, 1887, the hotel has 115 rooms and is widely regarded as the oldest hotel still operating in Singapore.
It was gazetted as a national monument in 1987 and used to host many world-famous political leaders.

The 50 Best Hotels, formerly known as The World’s 50 Best Hotels, is compiled by British media company William Reed, which also produces lists covering restaurants, bars and vineyards under The 50 brand.
The rankings are based on votes from more than 800 anonymous members of The 50 Best Hotels Academy, including travel journalists, hoteliers and experienced luxury travelers.
Rosewood Hong Kong topped the 2026 list, followed by Thailand’s Capella Bangkok and Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River in second and third place, respectively.
