Last week, various media outlets reported that the Al Nassr forward and the Spanish model planned to tie the knot on Aug. 8 in Ronaldo’s hometown of Madeira. The highly anticipated ceremony was rumored to take place at a cathedral in Funchal, the island’s capital.
However, according to New York Postthis plan was not real. Portuguese TV host Adriano Silva recently contacted Ronaldo’s sisters to verify the claims. Both Katia and Elma Aveiro categorically denied reports that their brother would be getting married this year, let alone holding a wedding this month.

According to The Sunthe 41-year-old footballer and the 32-year-old model were set to hold their wedding on a Saturday afternoon in Madeira. The British newspaper claimed the Funchal church had been booked for a ceremony, with the nearby five-star Savoy Palace hotel reserved for an exclusive reception.
However, HELLO reportedly contacted the Funchal church previously identified as the venue for the wedding. According to this source, the church had no record of a wedding booking under the names of either Ronaldo or Rodriguez.
The rumor culminated in a chaotic scene on Aug. 8 when thousands of fans and journalists gathered outside the Funchal cathedral, expecting to see the famous couple. Instead, it was another couple who were getting married at the venue that day.
Following Portugal’s campaign at the 2026 World Cup, Ronaldo has spent most of his time relaxing with Rodriguez on his private yacht. These recent photos suggest the couple is simply enjoying their summer vacation rather than getting busy preparing for a major event.
Earlier rumors also circulated that Ronaldo and Rodriguez were planning a secret wedding for Aug. 1 at an ancient castle near Lisbon, which also proved to be false.
Before the World Cup, Ronaldo expressed his desire to win the trophy during an interview with broadcaster Piers Morgan, adding that he planned to hold his wedding after the tournament.
However, following Portugal’s elimination by Spain, local media speculated that he had postponed any wedding plans because tying the knot would feel like celebrating the title of another national team.
