He told that when Sushant was undergoing treatment for depression at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, Rhea Chakraborty had asked him for help. Smita had also visited Sushant in the hospital and wished to give him spiritual healing. The actress also said that till today she regrets that Sushant could not come to her ashram.

I had worked with him in the film ‘Sonali Cable’, and we had talked about all these things earlier also. He remembered that conversation, so he contacted me. I told him that I will come and meet Sushant.”
Smita Jaykar wanted to invite Sushant to her ashram
The actress further said, “At that time, he was probably under the influence of medicines. He spoke to me very nicely and seemed quite happy. I was planning to bring him to the ashram, and he was also ready to participate in a process there. That night, Riya messaged me and said, ‘Smita, his condition is worsening again.’ This never happened, and I wish he had come.”
Smita felt regret after Sushant’s death
Smita Jayakar said that after hearing the news of Sushant’s death, the thought came to her mind again and again that she wished the actor had contacted her again. She felt that if Sushant had come to her, perhaps she could have helped him some more.
The actress also clarified that she wanted to do something for Sushant and was trying her best to help him. According to him, after meeting Sushant, he felt that the actor could come to the ashram and seek spiritual treatment, but this did not happen.
