Smriti Mandhana makes history with T20I achievement in Netherlands encounter
Indian batter Smriti Mandhana achieved a huge feat in T20I cricket during the game against the Netherlands on Wednesday. The 29-year-old became the first batter in both Men’s and Women’s cricket to go past the 600 fours mark in this format. This record was achieved during her knock of 74 at Headingley, Leeds, in the T20 World Cup game.
Left-handed batter scored her runs off just 47 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and a solitary six. By the end of her knock, Mandhana had taken her career tally to 604 fours in T20I format from 168 games with 4475 runs. She has also hit one century and 35 fifties with an average of 30.

Indian opener named Player of the Match after 95-run win
Harmanpreet Kaur and her side won the game against the Netherlands with relative ease by 95 runs. This was their second win of the campaign after beating Pakistan by 64 runs, and they are now top of the points table. Opener Shafali Verma scored 55 off 38 balls as the opening pair added 115 runs in just 70 balls to help India reach 209 for the loss of 5 wickets. Richa Ghosh scored 20 not out of just eight balls with one boundary and two huge sixes towards the end of the innings.
For the Dutch side, it was skipper Babette de Leede who was the top scorer with 28 runs from 27 balls. Shree Charani was the best bowler for the Women in Blue, taking 4/19 from her allotted four overs. Shafali took three wickets while Nandani Sharma picked up two scalps. Mandhana was named the Player of the Match, and the Indians next play South Africa on Sunday in Manchester.
