New Delhi, 19 July. Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) and Safdarjung Hospital issued a health bulletin on Sunday regarding the health of social activist Sonam Wangchuk. According to the hospital, Wangchuk’s health condition is currently stable, but due to his long-term hunger strike, he has been kept under the observation of specialist doctors.

Sonam Wangchuk is under 24-hour medical observation

In the medical bulletin issued by Safdarjung Hospital, it was told that Sonam Wangchuk is being given necessary medical treatment. His vital health parameters are stable, although some changes have been seen in blood parameters. Doctors at the hospital say that fasting for a long time can have serious effects on the body. For this reason, he has been kept under the observation of a multi-disciplinary expert team and his clinical condition and blood tests are being continuously monitored.

Recruitment was done after the instructions of Delhi High Court

It is noteworthy that on Saturday, after the instructions of Delhi High Court and advice of doctors, Delhi Police admitted Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital after her health deteriorated during the indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar.

On which issue were you fasting?

Sonam Wangchuk had joined the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) movement. This movement is going on at Jantar Mantar since June 6 demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister in the alleged NEET paper leak case. Wangchuk formally started his fast unto death from June 28.
