Sonam Wangchuk will be discharged from hospital today, preparing to leave Rajghat for Ladakh

Sonam Wangchuk to be discharged: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a long fast over the paper leak issue, will be discharged from the hospital today. He will now return to public life for the first time after his 26-day indefinite fast. After being discharged from the hospital, he will first go to Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

According to reports, Sonam will reach Rajghat directly from Wangchuk Hospital and will pay floral tributes at the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi. Even before starting the fast, he went to Rajghat and started a non-violent movement following Gandhiji’s ideas. After visiting Rajghat, he will leave for Ladakh.

He broke his fast on July 24

Sonam Wangchuk started an indefinite fast from June 28 at Delhi’s Jantar-Mantar over the paper leak issue. As his health deteriorated during the fast, he was admitted first to Safdarjung Hospital and then to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He then ended his fast on July 24 after discussing with the government and agreeing on the demands.

Expressed confidence in the government’s assurance

After ending the fast, Sonam Wangchuk said that this decision has been taken to maintain the interest and peace of the country. He expressed confidence in the assurance of the government to solve the problems of the students.

On the other hand, the ongoing 36-day agitation led by the CJP at Jantar-Mantar has also come to an end. After the movement ended, Sonam Wangchuk called it a victory for democracy and congratulated the students and the youth power.
