Sonbhadra / Uttar Pradesh –

District Sonbhadra has achieved a remarkable achievement under the special campaign launched by the state government from June 1 to June 30, 2026 for quick and quality disposal of revenue land related cases. As a result of the continuous direction, daily monitoring and effective working style of District Magistrate Charcha Gaur, the district has performed excellently at the state level in disposal of cases pending in the revenue courts.

During the campaign, District Magistrate Shri Charcharat Gaur held a review meeting with all the Sub-District Magistrates, Tehsildars and Revenue Department officials through video conferencing every day and gave instructions for quick and quality disposal of the pending cases. The positive result of regular review of each case and fixing of accountability was that all the references pending for trial have been disposed of and at present the number of references pending for trial in the district has come to zero.

Similarly, the pending cases in the Consolidation Court have also been completely disposed of and the number of pending cases there too has reduced to zero. The pending cases related to the Honorable High Court were also resolved through effective advocacy and coordination, due to which their number has also reached zero. The number of cases pending in revenue courts has come down to only 120, while the number of cases pending in civil courts has come down to only 22. This achievement is the result of continuous monitoring of the administration, timely action and proactive functioning of the Revenue Department. Of the total 6,544 cases revived under the campaign, most have been disposed of and now only 580 cases are pending, which mainly relate to Obra and Robertsganj tehsils.

District Magistrate Shri Charcharat Gaur has directed the concerned officers to further strengthen the achievements of the campaign by ensuring speedy disposal of these remaining cases on priority basis. Under the leadership of District Magistrate Charcha Gaur, Sonbhadra district has presented an excellent example of quick and effective disposal of revenue matters. Due to continuous monitoring of administration, timely review and accountability of officers, the district has achieved remarkable achievements in comparison to other districts of the state, which is considered an important step towards good governance and transparent administration.
