Sonia Gandhi News: Sonia Gandhi's troubles increase in voter list controversy! Rouse Avenue Court accepted the revision petition

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has taken an important step in the voter list dispute related to senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. The court has accepted the revision petition of the complainant in the case and allowed the filing of additional documents. This case is related to the allegations of Sonia Gandhi's name being included in the voter list even before she got Indian citizenship. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vinod Joshi has fixed November 18 for the next hearing of the case.

What is the voter list controversy related to Sonia Gandhi?

This complaint has been filed by senior advocate Vikas Tripathi. It is alleged that Sonia Gandhi's name was included in the voter list in the year 1980, while she got Indian citizenship in April 1983. According to the complainant, it was against the rules to enroll the name in the voter list before obtaining Indian citizenship.

According to the documents, Sonia Gandhi's name was included in the voter list in 1980, removed in 1982 and added again in 1983. His then residential address Safdarjung Road, New Delhi has also been mentioned in the complaint.

Why did the Sessions Court reverse the magistrate's order?

Earlier, the ACJM court had refused to give instructions to register an FIR against Sonia Gandhi. Complainant Vikas Tripathi had challenged this decision. On September 21, Special Judge (MP-MLA cases) Vishal Gogane, while accepting the revision petition, had set aside the magistrate's order. The court had said that the complaint was rejected on the basis of photocopy of an unverified document and adequate reasons were not recorded in the order.

Next hearing will be held on November 18

The sessions court has sent the case back to the magistrate court for a fresh hearing. The court can also ask for a status report from the concerned police officer. Now the complaint and additional documents to be presented will be considered further in the hearing to be held on November 18. However, this decision of the court does not mean that the allegations against Sonia Gandhi are proved or an order to register an FIR. The judicial process is still going on in the case.
