Former captain of the Indian cricket team and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and his wife are receiving death threats. According to reports, Sourav Ganguly and his wife Donna Ganguly have received threat letters, threatening to eliminate him and his family. In this matter, a written complaint has been lodged on behalf of Sourav Ganguly's family at Thakurpukur police station in Kolkata. Police have started investigating the matter and the safety of the family is also being reviewed.
According to reports, the Ganguly family was receiving such letters for the last six months. It is being told that initially the family did not take them seriously and the family believed that some angry or overzealous fan was sending such letters. But the family contacted police after the language used in recent letters became more aggressive and serious.

Sourav and Gona Ganguly received letters
According to the police complaint, recently two more letters were received in the name of Sourav Ganguly and his wife Donna Ganguly. In these, objectionable things were written against both of them and threats were made regarding their life and safety. In the complaint, concerns have also been expressed about the safety of the staff working with Ganguly.
Personal secretary lodged a complaint
In this matter, Sourav Ganguly's personal secretary Tania Bhattacharya has given a written complaint at Thakurpukur police station. It has been said in the complaint that she is drawing the attention of the police towards these threatening letters on behalf of Ganguly. The police have been requested to identify the person who sent the letter and ensure the safety of Ganguly, his wife and staff. According to the report, the latest letter was sent to Ganguly's home through courier. Later it was opened in his office. The letter was written in English and contained a threat to eliminate Ganguly and his family.
What was written in the letter?
According to the report of Sports Tak, the date of August 1 was written on the threatening letter which has come to light. 'God' was written in place of sender. This is said to be a two-page letter, in which many things were written and threats were made to eliminate or destroy Sourav Ganguly and his family.

Who sent the courier?
Initial police investigation has revealed that the threatening packet was sent through courier. The name of the sender on the packet was Arun Kumar and the address was Belgharia. A phone number was also given on the packet, from which the name Arun Kumar initially appeared. However, the police are still trying to find out whether the letters were actually sent by this person or someone else used the identity of someone else.
The police are now carrying forward the investigation on the basis of information recorded on the letter, courier records and packets. The main focus of the investigation is to find out from where the letters were sent, who prepared them and what is the authenticity of the names and addresses written on the packets. Police are also trying to find out the reason behind the threat. Along with this, the police is reviewing the security of Ganguly family and additional security can be provided if needed.
