South Africa beats Australia in the second test, Bavuma's revenge complete!

The second match of the 3-match Test series between South Africa and Australia was played in Gkebarha. On the fifth and last day of this match (Thursday), South Africa has leveled the series by winning by an innings and 31 runs. Australia won the first test by 214 runs. After this victory, Kangaroo opener Travis Head made fun of Proteas team captain Temba Bavuma. He had posted a meme related to Bavuma in his Instagram story.

Bavuma's team has taken revenge from Australia and Head. Actually, the Australian team has lost despite Head's century and this has happened for the first time in Test cricket. In all the Test centuries that Head had scored before, Australia had either won or the match had ended in a draw.

Bavuma's courageous innings

The second Test between South Africa and Australia started on Sunday (October 18) but due to rain, only 43 overs could be played in the first two days. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, the South African team was struggling at the score of 97/5 till stumps on the second day. Bavuma was holding one end but Wiaan Mulder also left him the next day, leaving the hosts' score at 110/6. Now his innings seemed to be ending soon but Bavuma, along with Marco Yanson and Simon Harmer, turned the tables. These three took South Africa to the score of 425/9.

Bavuma played a marathon inning of 179 runs in 334 balls. Yanson was out after scoring 85 runs in 100 balls. Harmer contributed 82 runs. After making a splash with the bat, Yanson wreaked havoc with the ball and took 5 wickets to wrap up Australia's first innings at 99. After this Bavuma forced the Kangaroo team to follow on. The Australian team, which came to play follow-on, showed fighting spirit but Mulder and Rabada spoiled its intentions.

Mulder showed amazing performance on the last day

On the fifth day of the match, play could not be played in the first session due to wet outfield. Australia's score in the second innings was 156/4. Nightwatchman Scott Boland was at the crease with Head. It seemed that the match would be a draw. In the second session, Head and Boland tried their best to save the match by keeping South Africa away from the wicket for a long time but Mulder opened the door by dismissing Head (121).

Shortly after this, Rabada dismissed Steve Smith. Mulder started the last session with the wicket of Boland (40 runs in 166 balls) and then clean bowled Kangaroo captain Pat Cummins, bringing South Africa closer to victory. After this, Rabada and Yanson completed the formalities by taking the remaining two wickets.
