On the initiative of South East Central Railway, this train will now operate on its full route between Durg-Ara-Durg in the entire month of Sawan. This will provide great convenience to thousands of devotees and Kanwar pilgrims going to Babadham from Chhattisgarh.
South Bihar Express was partially canceled due to mega block
Mega block is being taken for track maintenance and infrastructure work in Kansbahal-Dharuadihi section in Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway. For this reason, South Bihar Express was partially canceled between Durg-Rourkela-Durg on different dates.
Decision changed in view of Shravani fair
During the Shravani fair, a large number of devotees from Chhattisgarh visit Baba Baidyanath Dham. Keeping in view the convenience of passengers, South East Central Railway has taken a special initiative and decided to reinstate South Bihar Express on the entire route. Now the train will run regularly between its initial and final station Ara-Durg-Ara.
Train will run on changed route on these dates
According to Railways, 13288 Ara-Durg South Bihar Express departing from Ara on 6, 13, 20 and 27 August 2026 will operate on the changed route of Chandil-Kandra-Sini. Whereas 13287 Durg-Ara South Bihar Express will run on its regular route only.

Railways says that with this decision Baba in the month of Sawan Baidyanath Dham The visiting devotees, Shiva devotees and other passengers will get the facility of uninterrupted, safe and convenient travel. With the train operating on its full route, passengers will no longer have to face the problem of partial cancellation.
