Southeast Asia’s most beautiful beaches revealed

Described in the ranking as “one of Thailand’s most distinctive shores”, Donald Duck Bay, also known as Ao Kueak, lies at the northern end of Similan Island No. 8, the main island of Mu Ko Similan National Park in the Andaman Sea, off the coast of Phang Nga.

Though relatively small, the bay is renowned for its iconic granite boulders, whose shape is said to resemble the head of the classic Disney character Donald Duck.

Pink Beach in Indonesia ranked 21st globally and fourth in Southeast Asia.

Blushed with crushed coral and microscopic Foraminifera, Pink Beach on Komodo Island, nestled between Sumbawa and Flores, offers stretches of rosé-hued sands where reef fish flicker and sea stars cling to coral gardens.

With pristine waters and rich marine biodiversity, it is an ideal destination for snorkeling. The best time to visit is from May to October, offering the most sunny days, while the rest of the year typically brings the rainy season.

Paradise Beach in Thailand’s Trang City came in 22nd place globally, and is described as “Thailand’s most peaceful island shore”, while Freedom Beach on Phuket’s west coast ranked 26th and is noted as a “quiet and secluded beach haven”.

Kalanggaman in the Philippines ranked 24th. Famous for its long, white sandbar and crystal-clear turquoise waters, it is a protected eco-tourism spot offering a “natural,” undeveloped getaway with limited daily visitor numbers.
