SP MP Priya Saroj reached Sonam Wangchuk’s fast, said- ‘I am not an MP, I have come as a representative of the youth’

These days, Sonam Wangchuk’s ongoing movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on issues like improvement in the education system and NEET paper leak has become a topic of discussion. On Tuesday, this movement got a big political support when Samajwadi Party MP from Machhilshahr (Uttar Pradesh) Priya Saroj reached there. After reaching Jantar Mantar, he met the famous education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, inquired about her well being and extended her support to her indefinite fast.

Priya Saroj, sitting among the agitators at Jantar Mantar, gave a big message while addressing the youth and students present there. She said, “I have come here not as an MP, but as a representative of the youth and students.” Priya Saroj announced her full support to this movement running under the banner of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP). She promised that she would strongly raise serious issues like reforms in the education system and paper leaks not only on the streets but also inside the House.

During this period, Priya Saroj took the BJP government to task. He said that efforts are being made continuously to divide the opposition and spread hatred, but we have to remain firm on the path of our struggle. Let us tell you that Sonam Wangchuk is sitting on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar since June 28. Their main demands are investigation into the alleged rigging in the NEET exam, resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and comprehensive reforms in the country’s education system.

Priya Saroj, who is considered very popular among the youth, was given a warm welcome at the protest site. She stayed there for a long time and was also seen discussing with the agitating leaders. Earlier, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav had also publicly appealed to Sonam Wangchuk to take care of her health and end her fast. Priya Saroj’s arrival there has now become a topic of discussion in political circles, because it directly clarifies SP’s stand on a big issue related to the youth.
