Spam Call- India reached 5th position in terms of Spam Call, people are very worried
Friends, mobile users in India are very troubled by the spam era, where a rapid increase in fraudulent calls is being seen, and the situation is becoming increasingly worrying. If you too often receive calls from unknown numbers offering loans, KYC updates, credit cards or banking services, then you are not alone. According to reports, India ranked fifth worldwide in terms of the number of spam calls in 2025.
Fraudulent calls are increasing every day
People across the country are constantly receiving calls from people posing as bank officials, government representatives, insurance agents or financial service providers. These callers often try to mislead users by mentioning that bank accounts are blocked, KYC verification is pending, attractive loan offers or reward schemes.
Their main objective is to obtain sensitive personal information like OTP, bank details, Aadhaar number or card information.
Telemarketing and financial fraud top the list
Most spam calls in India are related to telemarketing and sales promotions. However, calls related to financial scams and online fraud are also increasing rapidly.
Cyber criminals are targeting unsuspecting users and trying to access their bank accounts and financial data through fraudulent phone calls.
Automated systems are exacerbating this problem
Truecaller report states that the techniques of spam calling have developed a lot. Earlier such calls were made manually, but now automated systems and software can make thousands of calls simultaneously.
Fraudsters are using advanced calling systems that constantly change numbers, which is why users often receive spam calls from new numbers even after blocking previous numbers.
To stay safe, users should:
Turn on caller ID and spam-blocking features on your smartphone
Enable Do Not Disturb (DND) service through telecom operators
Avoid answering suspicious international or unknown calls
Report fraudulent numbers on the government’s ‘Sanchar Sathi’ portal run by TRAI
The danger may become even more dangerous
Experts warn that spam and scam calls are no longer just a nuisance—they have become a major cybersecurity threat. As technology advances, fraudsters are adopting more and more cunning methods to target people.
