Speed ​​wreaks havoc in UP’s Mau: Uncontrolled Scorpio hits divider and collides with trailer, five killed

Mau, 25 April. A heart-wrenching road accident came to light in the early hours of Saturday in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh. Five people have died in this accident. This accident happened on Gorakhpur-Varanasi four lane near Kusumha Basharatpur of Doharighat police station area. The speeding Scorpio went out of control and first hit the divider and then went into the other lane and collided with the trailer. Giving information about the incident, Ghosi Area Officer Jitendra Singh said that we had received information about the road accident late in the night, after which a police team was immediately sent to the spot.

On reaching the spot, it was found that a vehicle had hit the divider and moved to the other lane and had a direct collision with the vehicle coming from the front. A total of five people have died in the accident. The police team started the rescue operation with the help of local people and relief team. It took a long time to cut the vehicle because the impact was so strong. After about two and a half hours of hard work, all five people were taken out, but by then they had died.

According to the information, the resident of Gorakhpur district had gone to Ranchi, Jharkhand in connection with his daughter’s marriage. After the completion of the marriage, he was returning home by car with his family. There were a total of five people in the vehicle. As soon as the vehicle reached Kusumha Basharatpur between 2.30 and 3 am on Saturday night, the driver fell asleep. Due to this the Scorpio went out of control. First it hit the divider and then after reaching the other lane, it collided heavily with the trailer coming from the front.

The collision was so severe that the vehicle was blown apart and all the people in it got trapped inside. As soon as information about the incident was received, Dohrighat police reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations were started with the help of local people. The bodies were sent to the district hospital for post-mortem. After the accident, a wave of mourning has spread in the entire area and the village of the deceased. The deceased have been identified and their families have been informed. All the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further legal action is being taken. Also, traffic has been restored by removing the accident vehicles.
