Spider-Man‘s latest big-screen adventure continues to dominate theaters, adding another impressive milestone to its already record-breaking box office run.
Just six days into its theatrical run, the fan favourite movie crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide.
It earned its place as the second fastest movie in history to achieve the feat, as per multiple outlets.
The only film to reach the milestone more quickly was 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which got $1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend.
With no signs of slowing down, the latest Marvel and Sony blockbuster has garnered $1.05 billion globally, including $407 million domestically and $645.8 million overseas.
One day prior, the movie made history by surpassing Avengers: Endgame to deliver the biggest domestic opening weekend ever, earning $360 million across North America.
From the moment it hit theaters on July 31, the blockbuster has been on a record-breaking streak, smashing milestone after milestone.
In addition to setting the record for the biggest domestic opening weekend, Spider-Man: Brand New Day also delivered the highest grossing opening day and the largest Thursday preview haul in domestic box office history.
The super hero film’s record-breaking run continued as the blockbuster raced past $400 million in North America faster than any film before it and earned a historic $47 million on Monday, eclipsing the record previously held by 2018’s Black Panther.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is Tom Holland’s fourth solo film as Peter Parker, following 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
