Women’s teams have already been decided

Four teams have already confirmed their places in the women’s cricket event through the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. These teams are:

How will men’s teams qualify?

The men’s qualification will be based primarily on the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings.

The highest-ranked qualifying teams from Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania as of December 31, 2026 will qualify.

To qualify, teams must finish in the ICC T20I top 15 rankings during the qualification period.

A total of six men’s teams will compete for the Olympic medal.

Can host nation USA qualify?

As the host nation, the United States has a chance to qualify, but there is no automatic qualification.

Unlike ICC events, the West Indies cannot compete as a combined team at the Olympics as Caribbean countries compete individually under the Olympic Movement.
