Friends, the Indian Premier League 2026 has ended with the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore and once again cricket is returning to international cricket, for which recently the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A team for the upcoming tri-series. India A, Afghanistan A and Sri Lanka A teams will participate in this series. This tournament will be played in Sri Lanka from June 9 to June 21 and will become an important way for many young players to showcase their talent on the international stage. Rituraj Gaikwad was made vice-captain
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been included in the India A squad and has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team. Gaikwad has replaced Riyan Parag in the team. Riyan Parag has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.
According to BCCI, Parag suffered an injury just before the tri-series, due to which he had to withdraw from the tournament. Initially he was expected to be made the vice-captain of the team.

Riyan Parag recently captained Rajasthan Royals in the 2026 IPL season. Under his captaincy the team performed brilliantly and reached the playoffs. However, Rajasthan’s journey ended there after losing to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2.
Parag’s absence from the team is a blow to India A, but Gaikwad’s inclusion will provide experience and excellent leadership to the team.
Tilak Verma will captain India A
Talented batsman Tilak Verma has been given the captaincy of India A team for this tri-series. This tournament will give him an opportunity to further hone his leadership skills, while also guiding a promising group of young cricketers.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi retained his place in the team
One well-known name in the team is young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is continuously impressing the selectors with his brilliant performances. Vaibhav made his debut in the India A team during the ‘Rising Stars Asia Cup’ in November 2025. In that tournament, he played a memorable inning of 144 runs in just 42 balls against UAE.
