SRH flies in the storm of Vaibhav Suryavanshi-Jofra Archer, RR’s entry in Qualifier 2
The eliminator match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played on Wednesday (27 May) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). By winning this match by 47 runs, RR has made it to Qualifier 2, where it will face Gujarat Titans. Whereas SRH has been wiped clean.

Vaibhav made a series of records
Explosive left-handed batsman Vaibhav started thrashing SRH bowlers from the very first over and took RR to 125 runs before getting out on the last ball of the 8th over. In this, Vaibhav’s opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed only 25 runs in 20 balls. Vaibhav was close to the record of fastest century in IPL history but he missed it. This record of 30 balls made by Chris Gayle in the 2013 season was narrowly missed. However, before this Vaibhav had broken a big record of Gayle.
Vaibhav has hit 65 sixes in the current season, which is a new record. Earlier, the record of hitting most sixes in a season was in the name of Gayle (59 sixes). Vaibhav had to hit 7 sixes to overtake him, for which he took only 15 balls. He completed his fifty in 16 balls, which is the joint fastest half-century in the IPL playoffs. Vaibhav equaled Suresh Raina’s record.
